skin to skin

skin to skin i bare my teeth at you a snarl catching your flesh a flash of gleaming white sunk down piercing the ground i could devour what remains of civility grind it to dust like the tenuous chains that bind me to you our thin veneer bit through salt on my tongue the taste of you and I crouched low our slow rhythm of darwin’s song i trace along your skin with claws barely retracted the price exacted for a pound of flesh raw skin to skin.
